St. Stephen’s Parish Choir of 13 voices (voluntary) sings at the 10am Parish Eucharist, and occasionally for other Services too.
The team includes novice singers and advanced musicians, offering appropriate leadership of congregational worship, together with a weekly anthem.
An Organ Scholarship is in place now that we have the newly-installed J J Binns organ, inaugurated by James O’Donnell; the organ is used regularly in concerts as well as being the main instrument for accompanying worship.
The Director of Music is Rosemary Field, who trains the Parish Choir and is always pleased to audition prospective singers. Rehearsals are all contained within Sunday morning – starting at 9.20am and ending at 12 noon after Service and coffee.
The church is also used for concerts and rehearsals by diverse groups of musicians. There are occasionally series of Saturday Coffee Concerts which offer music to local residents.
