Lent is an opportunity for us as a Christian Community to reflect, pray, fast, give alms and generally to reassess our faith in Jesus Christ as we prepare to enter the mysteries of Holy Week and joys of Easter.
To further support this, we have put together an excellent Lenten Programme for St Stephen’s. Our hope is that there something for everyone to enjoy, learn, and be a part of.
This Lent we have a very exciting Lenten publication with our friends from our NYC Link parish, which will be made up of a selection of art with reflections from members of both congregations. We hope you will all take the opportunity to use these reflections to form part of your daily devotions. This will be available on our church website as well as in hard copy at the back of church.
On Friday lunchtimes, starting 6th March, between 1.15-1.45pm, we invite you all to a series of short organ recitals to lead us through Lent and into Passiontide.
We will be hosting Lent lunches on Sundays after Parish Eucharist during March. We will also be holding our annual study group with St Matthew’s Church on Wednesdays from 4th March in St Matthew’s Centre at 7pm. For more information on all these events, please refer to our website: www.sswsj.org.
On Sundays we will be looking at the Eucharist in a different way as an inspiration for our Lenten journey. We will still have a Sunday School, albeit with a shorter format, so that everyone may experience the Eucharist.
