Getting married at St Stephen's
We welcome enquiries from couples wishing to be married at
St Stephen's. By law, one of the couple must be resident within
the parish boundary (see the map on Finding
Us page), or else one of the couple must be on the church's
electoral roll, which can take place following a period of
six months attendance at the church. Banns of marriage (for
those being married in church elsewhere who are resident in
the parish) can be arranged through the Parish Office.
Baptisms at St Stephen's
We are glad to receive requests for Baptism. According to
circumstances, Baptisms can take place either during our principal
Sunday morning service, or shortly after. We would normally
expect families to have an association with St Stephen's either
through residence in the parish or through attendance at the
church. Please contact the clergy or the Parish Office.
Funerals and Memorial Services
Local funeral directors are aware that the staff of St Stephen's
very much appreciate the opportunity to conduct funeral services
for those who have lived in the parish, whether or not they
have belonged to the church (unless, of course, the family
already have another minister in mind). This applies whether
the funeral takes place in church or at the crematorium. We
are also pleased to consider requests for memorial services.
You can phone the Parish Office on 020 7834
0950.
