John writes:

I was born in Cornwall in 1967. On finishing at Truro School I studied art in the North West of England focussing on textile sculpture. In 1990 I completed teacher training in Winchester and began my career at St Matthew's CofE Primary School, Westminster.

After I was ordained in 2005, I joined the staff team at St Stephen with St John in January 2009, having previously assisted at the Grosvenor Chapel for some years. I am also the Headteacher of our parish school, Burdett-Coutts & Townshend Foundation CofE Primary School.

My outside interests include photography (I make all my own greetings cards), reading crime/thrillers and spending time in Cornwall browsing the contemporary art galleries.

I live on the edge of Camberwell.
