I was brought up in Chislehurst where I attended St. Nicholas' C of E School, before going to Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School . I've maintained a link with St. Nicholas church to this day. I was a member of the choir there for seventeen years, a bell ringer and responsible for regulating the church clock.
Since 2010 I've has been a member of the choir at the Parish Church of St. George, Beckenham. As well as regular Sunday services, the choir often sings in Cathedrals both in the UK and abroad, and makes BBC recordings (it can sometimes be heard on Radio 2's Sunday Half Hour).
Prior to being offered this position, I spent six years in a surveying practice in the City. I think of myself as a practical person who enjoys a challenge, not least maintaining my 1967 Morris Traveller. I take an interest in most music and enjoy going to the opera. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, love cheese and wine, and have a very dry sense of humour (as Philip is discovering!).
My ambitions for my role as Parish Administrator are to use my experience from both my church and professional background for the benefit of the Church and to serve the parishioners of St. Stephen's. |
